Fire Flow Tests

Regardless of the type, all developments must have hydrant flow tests performed to determine water availability at the point of connection. These tests are performed for a variety of reasons:

  • To determine water availability for firefighting
  • To determine water availability for the design of fire sprinkler systems
  • To determine water availability for the design of domestic waster systems
  • To evaluate the need for water main extensions
  • To evaluate system improvements and replacements
  • To determine the general condition of the water distribution system

Authorized Jackson Energy Authority personnel must perform all hydrant flow tests. Contractors must complete and submit the Flow Test Request form to begin the process. Please allow 3-5 days for the test to be completed and results returned.
