Gas Pipelayer (Temporary)
Performs a variety of construction and maintenance duties, including operations of light
equipment related to the gas system.
Must have a high school diploma (GED). Preference will be given to those individuals with two
years or more of construction and/or maintenance experience.
Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee class "A" license with a "Government Only"
endorsement within six months of employment.
Plant Maintenance Technician I (full-time)
Performs routine lubrication, cleaning and maintenance on water and wastewater treatment plants and related equipment/facilities. Assists plant maintenance technician II's on water and wastewater system tasks. Some out of town work is expected. Tasks range from housekeeping to technically oriented tasks.
High school diploma (GED) minimum. Trade school and/or industrial maintenance background experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on mechanical and electrical equipment as described in essential functions.
JEA Apprenticeship program (optional). After a six month evaluation, department supervision will decide if individuals are ready to enter the apprenticeship program.
This is a four year program allowing Plant Maintenance Technician I to advance to Plant Maintenance Technician II. Criteria must be met as outlined in the Apprentice Program.
Courier (Temporary – less than 30 hours per week)
Responsible for pickup and delivery of mail to/from the post office and between all company facilities and financial institutions.
High school diploma (GED) and good communication skills required.
Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee Class "D" license.
