Jackson enjoys very high quality drinking water - quality that exceeds state and federal standards. Laboratory tests are performed continually to insure the highest quality water. Operation and maintenance of the water system is rated one of the best in the nation. The Tennessee Department of Environment annually has rated our system with grades from 98 to a perfect 100. Deep wells pump water from an underground aquifer to two water filtration plants, which treat the water before it reaches your home. Our water plants produce about 14 million gallons of fluoridated water daily with a capacity to produce more than 25 million gallons per day.

More about our water:

Our water system provides good pressure and fire flow throughout the city. Jackson maintains a Class 3 fire rating, the best rating in the state. The lower the rating, the lower the homeowner and business insurance rates in most cases.
