Paying Your Utility Bill

How to read your bill

At Jackson Energy Authority, we make it easy to pay your utility bill. Of course, you can always stop by our office downtown at 119 E. College St. or at The Connection in Old Hickory Mall. The downtown office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our drive-through window downtown is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Connection is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Here are other convenient payment options:

  • By Mail: You can use the envelope enclosed with your bill to mail us your payment.
  • Banks: You can pay your bill at the following banks if you pay before the due date: AmSouth Bank, BancorpSouth, Bank of Jackon, Bank of Madison County, Bank of Milan, FirstBank, First South Bank, First Tennessee Bank, Medina Banking Co., Union Planters Bank, and the Union Planters Bank/Three-Way Branch. You also can pay at Resource Federal Credit Union.
  • Drop Boxes: After hours, you can put your bill in the drop boxes at our downtown office at 119 E. College St., The Connection in the Mall, in Pinson at 23 Old Henderson Road, and at the JTA Transfer Center in downtown Jackson.
Budget Billing: This option makes it easier for you to budget for utilities because you pay the same each month. We estimate your monthly utility bill based on the average amount you used in the last year.
  • Bank Draft: Your bank can deduct the amount of your monthly utility bill from your bank account.
  • ADD Program: You may be eligible for our ADD program if you are retired or living on a fixed income. We can delay the bill's due date until after your monthly retirement or government check arrives.
Credit: We have several options to extend your credit if you have problems paying your bill.
  • Third Party Notification: You can be notified if a friend or family member living at another location has a utility bill past due.
  • Project Help: Project Help, administered by Area Relief Ministries, helps low income people pay their utility bills. Our customers fund it through voluntary donations added to their monthly utility bill. If you know of someone who needs help or if you want to give to Project Help, call us at 422-7500 or e-mail us at jaxenergy@jaxenergy.com.
