Getting Service

Apply for Service

New Residential Customers
In most instances we can turn on your utilities the same day you request them. You can call our Customer Service Call Center from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Or you can apply for service in person at our administrative office at 119 E. College St. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at our new Customer Center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

You also can start, stop or transfer your utilities through our Application for Service on the Internet.

A $300 deposit may be waived if you have a favorable credit rating or a letter of credit from your previous utility. (The deposit is $50 if you're applying only for water/wastewater services.) The deposit - with interest - will be refunded in two years if you maintain a good credit history with Jackson Energy Authority.

A $20 charge to turn on services can be added to your first bill.

Moving
If you are moving away or transferring utility services to another location within our system, call us at 422-7500 and give us the details of your move. Try to give us as much advance notice as possible. A $20 charge to transfer services will be added to your bill.

Building A New Home or Business
Call us before you start. Our trained staff of engineers and service representatives will help you get your utilities in a timely manner.
