Cost-Effective Utilities

Jackson Energy Authority customers enjoy some of the lowest utility rates in the country. At JEA, we work hard to keep our operating and maintenance expenses down. At the same time, municipal systems like JEA have lower rates than private utility companies because our customers are our owners and we do not have to make a profit for shareholders. We buy all of our electricity from the Tennessee Valley Authority, which has a history of providing lower-cost electric power. We also have joined with other gas utilities through The Tennergy Corporation to save on the purchase and management of our gas supply.
