Jackson has turned a corner after last week's devastating tornadoes. Emergency recovery efforts are now in a restoration phase. Many of us are returning to our normal daily activities, but many JEA customers still face challenging days as they recover from the destruction.

With JEA utilities restored to all homes and businesses who can accept service, we will focus our efforts on offering personal assistance to customers still directly affected by the storm. Highly skilled JEA employees are available to help customers with transferring utility services, answering questions regarding lost or damaged cable boxes, retaining phone numbers, and billing services.

JEA Assistance Checklist.

If you are a JEA customer and your home or business was damaged by the storm, follow this checklist to disconnect or transfer your utility services.…

  • Call 422-7500 to disconnect any JEA utility, cable TV, telephone, or Internet service.

  • Provide JEA with the name on your account and your current street address.

  • Provide JEA a forwarding address or the address of your nearest relative.

  • To reinstate services at another location, call JEA. The $20 service charge will be waived.

  • Contact us to retain your current JEA telephone number.

  • If your cable TV set-top box is lost or damaged, please contact us for assistance in filing a claim with your insurance company. Meanwhile, we will issue you a new set-top box. Damaged or destroyed set-top boxes may be returned to either our Downtown or Columns location.
