Economic Development A Major Player in Jackson's Growth Jackson Energy Authority is a major player in Jackson's economic growth and in its ability to attract more jobs. We provide the necessary infrastructure of water, wastewater, electric, gas and broadband services so our community can grow. The last few years have been extremely busy at JEA as our employees extend service to new shopping centers, subdivisions, growth areas and industries. Our master plans include future expansions to continue to meet the community's growth needs. JEA has built capacity in all of its utilities for increased demand. Pringles Park, Jackson's new baseball stadium, is a good example of how we worked with City officials to help make the park become a reality. JEA extended water, wastewater, electric and natural gas utilities to the park, installed electrical switchgear in the stadium, and designed and installed the flood lighting in the parking lot. We put in a wastewater pumping station and worked with City crews to install the water and wastewater lines. Team Madison County JEA plays a critical role in the development of our community's industrial parks. We are in partnership with the City of Jackson on Jackson's new Class A industrial park -- the Tiger Jones Technology Park -- which offers a high-tech infrastructure and other amenities not often found in industrial parks. Infrastructure is extremely important to companies as they decide where to expand and build new plants. JEA has a reputation for having a well-maintained utility system, long-term and reliable sources of supply and employees who know how to get the job done right. Meeting industry needs Jackson Energy Authority's utilities are monitored continuously by a sophisticated computer network to provide reliable service and a quick response time. JEA is on hand 24 hours a day to handle emergency situations, such as voltage or pressure problems. Residential development A strong utility system Commercial and Industrial Customers
