Jackson Energy Authority does more than provide
utilities
we're a proud part of our community. From being a Partner
in Education to helping to attract good jobs to the Jackson community,
we try to be a good neighbor. We know that a good community needs all
of its citizens, and especially its corporate citizens, to be involved
- Jackson Energy Authority plays an important
role in recruiting new industry to Jackson and in providing the infrastructure
and cost-efficient utilities to attract those industries.
- We support the Partners in Education Program through our long-standing
relationship with Isaac Lane Elementary School.
- As a community service, we co-sponsor Weatherline. By dialing 731-423-1230,
you will get the time, temperature, and an up-to-date, 24-hour forecast.
- Each year, our employees give to United Way,
which provides funding to dozens of organizations that help the needy,
the elderly and young people throughout the community. In the 2004 campaign,
the employee total giving to United Way was more than $59,000 through one time
gifts, payroll contributions, and JEA's 10% match.
- We help to sponsor a variety of events in Jackson,
including the Smile 'n See Program for the
medically needy and the annual National Night Out each August to show
community support against crime.
- JEA administers Project
Help, a program where employees and customers donate money through
their monthly utility bills to help their neighbors in need pay their
utility bills.
