JEA EPlus Broadband Signs 1,000th Customer
Press Release: June 30th, 2004
A Malesus resident is the 1,000th customer to sign up for Jackson
Energy Authority's new EPlus Broadband Services.
To celebrate the milestone, JEA is giving the customer, Cathy Sebastian,
a year's worth of free digital television cable service - valued at $600 - and a basket of gifts.
Sebastian, who lives at 22 Bellmeade Drive in Malesus, signed up for EPlus Broadband's Standard
Triple Pack that includes digital television cable, high speed Internet and telephone service.
"With the addition of our 1,000th customer, JEA is pleased to announce
that our fiber-to-the-home network is well ahead of schedule both in terms of the numbers of customers
who have signed up for broadband services and in the construction of the network," says Kim Kersey,
Senior Vice-President of Telecommunications.
JEA, which is installing the largest fiber-to-the-home network in
the country, officially started to sign up customers on April 27 of this year. As soon as construction
crews install fiber in a neighborhood, sales teams call on residents in the neighborhood to sign them
up for service, Kersey says.
