EPlus Broadband Launches All-Digital Network
Press Release: April 28th, 2005
EPlus Broadband has completed the launch
of its All Digital Simulcast (ADS) project as part of an ongoing
effort to bring more choices to customers. Cable channels 2 through
83 were previously only available in an analog format even when
using a digital converter. With the simulcast in place, EPlus customers
now have access to all cable channels in a digital format when using
a digital converter.
Customers will still be able to use their
cable-ready televisions and VCR’s without having to rent a
digital converter since EPlus Broadband simulcasts the entire 2-83
lineup in an analog or “Cable Ready” format.
Company representatives explain that analog
transmission of cable television signals over JEA’s state-of-the-art
fiber system has always provided exceptional performance and picture
quality. However, they added, digital transmission eliminates picture
impairments inherent in analog transmission such as those caused
by excessive splitting or amplification of the signal in the customer’s
home.
“We are providing this all-digital
option to our customers as part of our ongoing commitment to provide
the best possible service available to our customers and communities
we serve,” stated Ben Lovins, JEA Broadband Operations Manager.
“Our customers deserve the option
of participating in the “Digital- Age” and we are excited
to provide this choice to them.”
EPlus Broadband has also recently added
channels from customer requests…Local on the 8s and SoapNet.
