Local on the 8s - EPlus Broadband Answers Customers’
Requests
Press Release: April 15th, 2005
To bring customers better weather information,
EPlus Broadband has added the local forecast segment to The Weather
Channel - Local on the 8s.
Local on the 8s was developed thru direct
feedback from Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) customers. “Our
customers are so accustomed to seeing local weather and when they
switched to Broadband services, it was in demand,” said Ben
Lovins, Broadband Operations Manager at JEA, who was instrumental
in bringing Local on the 8s to JEA’s fiber optic system.
Local on the 8s gives the local forecast
on every 8 of each hour of the day - :08, :18, :28, :38, :48, :58
– and is powered by equipment installed at cable headends
across America. Its special programming from The Weather Channel
has provided local forecasting and patented equipment for transmitting
the information around the world for over 20 years.
“We really try to meet the needs of
our customers,” Lovins added.
