JEA Notifies Customers of Upcoming Sewer Construction

Press Release: February 18th, 2005

Jackson Energy Authority would like to inform customers of upcoming construction work and traffic changes on portions of Highland Avenue between McCowat and Westwood streets. At times, two lane traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions beginning Monday, February 21st thru the first week in May of this year.

“This is advance work we are doing in conjunction with a future TDOT project,” states Rowland Fisher, JEA Wastewater System Engineer. The work consists of two stages – sewer line repairs by excavation at problem areas then the use of a cured in place liner.

“This liner is inserted into the existing sewer pipes at manholes in order to avoid digging up the entire street,” Fisher added.
